The illegal alien problem is a lot more complex than just "rounding them up and shipping them out." Anecdotes about illegals' committing crime don't go too far with me. We all know which demographic commits an overwhelming majority of crime in this country, and nothing radical is done about that problem. Why? Votes. Political power. Collective societal guilt. It really is that simple.
Here's a fact with which our politicos have to deal: An illegal couple can engender 10 legals, all of whom are American citizens and who will be eligible to vote. Taking radical action against the parents of 10 voters isn't something that's going to be too easy for legislators in the border states to swallow.
Maybe some illegals are paid $.50 per hour; that's not the case around here, where illegals are paid pretty well. It's not just that the illegals (we're really talking about Mexicans, aren't we?) take jobs that Americans can't/won't do, but they, by-and-large, do those jobs very well. When my son's house was being finished, I was afforded the opportunity to observe a crew of Mexican painters finishing the interior of my son's house. Got to say that I was truly impressed with how they worked...no small talk, no b.s., no lollygagging around. They got down to business and did their business well and in a hurry.
Another problem with the "Final Solution" (mass exportation) proposed by some dimwits is how to implement such a plan. Exactly how would the government transport 11M people, many of whom are the parents and grandparents of American citizens who vote?
I don't have the answers, but at least I recognize the questions. Could be one of those historical problems that has no good answer...kind of like the long-term results of American slavery. Could ultimately be the downfall of Western Civilization. Who knows? I don't!
