JHP for Kimber?

Kimber owners: in your experience, what JHP bullets work most reliably in your Kimbers? I just got a new Kimber Classic Stainless Target and would like to know what JHPs have worked well for you. I'm going to try a bunch of stuff anyway, but would at least like to have a few good ideas to start with. Thanks!

Hello. I've had no problems with any of the JHPs I've tried, but have put more handloads using Speer's old 200 gr JHP and Hornady 200 gr XTPs than anything else. It worked fine.
In factory loads, Federal's 230 gr HydraShok and Remington's 230 gr Golden Sabers have worked fine as have Cor*Bon 185 gr +P JHPs.
Best.

My Ultra Elite shoots great with Corbon 185 JHP. My Super Match shoots very well with 230 Hydro-Shoks and a Gold Match I sold shot the best with 230 Speer Gold Dots.

As for handloads, I like Hornady, Speer, Golden Sabers, and Sierra the best. Those included 185, 200, 225, and 230 JHP.

I like using Titegroup with the reloads.

HI

My Kimber likes either the Federal 165 gr Hydra-shok or the Speer Gold Dots in 200 or 230 grain. My local establisment is out of 230 H-S (they have 100 CASES on order) so I haven't tried that yet.

Once it broke in it seems to eat anything. :D

Maybe I need to rephrase this: has anyone had any problem getting their Kimber to reliably feed any particular types of JHPs? :)

Thanks for the replies! I can't wait to shoot this beauty!

I have never had a Kimber hang up on any of the JHPs I put through them, but I do know that 45s in general tend to be more reliable with the round nose profile JHPs such as the Gold Saber and HydraShok.

I have never had a problem with JHP in my SS Gold Match. I went through hundreds of Federal HS 230 gr, as this is my self defense load. I also reload some Hornady JHP, and no problems with these either. In fact, the only problems with anything in the Kimber has been when I tried SWC, and then it was my fault for to short OAL.

Thanks for all the replies...unfortunately, it turns out that the gun store didn't have ANY of your suggestions! "W.T.F.???" I thought to myself. So I got something different: Winchester Supreme SXT 230gr, which worked PERFECTLY. In fact, my Kimber was almost unnaturally accurate and a pure joy to shoot. Once I get some more magazines it may make the rest of my guns obsolete!

200gr Gold Dots new,230gr Hydra-Shoks,185gr Silver Tips, take your pick. The 230gr hydras probably your best bet with 5 inch barrels.I use 200gr GD's in my 4 inch. SHOKz

The 200 grain Blazer hollow points work well in my Kimber. As a plus side you can afford to shoot enough of them to test the gun out, something that everybody can't do with more expensive ammunition like the HydraShoks.
