jerry miculek's 627 perfomance center

Exuse me........ but I brought this back to the top cuz I could really use some opinions..............thanks!

I have one. It is a fine revolver and offers some cutting edge features that make it desireable. I personally do not feel that it is worth the price. I suppose that if you are competeing in some type of pistol sport where this gun is legal, it might be just the ticket. I am not, and enjoy my $225 Model 28 much more.

If you shop around for a custom revolver or have a custom barrel installed on an existing gun, this gun is a bargain. Due to the arms race in competitive shooting, the gun is not legal or must compete in special classification. That usually means shooting against some of the best shooter in the world. So in other words, you'd be overwhelmed. I'll agree with 444. If the gun is not going to be used in some kind of competition, you're a collector or you just have a compulsion to own this gun, then you are just wasting money. Better off purchasing a 686 with or without comp.

I did a sort of "review" of the 627 "PC" a little over a year ago...it was titled " A Tale of TWO .357's..." and is still in the archives...hope that helps....mikey357
