Jericho (current) 941 and Baby Eagle III information

So here is some information regarding the current Baby Eagle III and Jericho 941 that I found interesting after doing a little research. I misspoke before saying the Baby Eagle III and the Jericho 941 are manufactured by IWI and imported by different companies. The current Jericho 941 is manufactured by IWI in Isreal and imported by its subsidiary company IWI in the US. The Baby Eagle III is manufactured by BUL in Isreal and imported and sold by Magnum research in the states.

Besides some cosmetic differences (the BEIII machined to look similar to the Desert Eagle, though completely different guns and firing mechanisms) they are relatively the same gun. The other big difference is that the MR baby eagle 3 has a tear drop shaped slide mounted decocker and safety while the IWI Jericho 941 as a frame mounted safety. This pertains to the CURRENT imported Jericho 941 and Baby Eagle 3 Pistols. Both come in compact and full size and are offered in either polymer (9mm or .40SW) or steel framed (9mm, 40sw, or 45acp).

Both are based off of the original Jericho 941 model, which is a clone of the Tangfolio, which is a clone of the CZ75. Even though they are clones, they are by their own right generally regarded as high quality, reliable firearms.

Some other notes. Prior to the BEIII, the "baby eagle 2" and it's prior names/versions/copies (baby eagle, baby desert eagle, Uzi eagle, Jericho 941) were manufactured by IMI then renamed IWI. Importers here in the states included Magnum research, IWI and now the defunct KBI. All the pistols named above are basically Jericho 941 models.

Before, I had thought they were different variations of the same gun from the same manufacturer and factory. Perhaps it's almost better to think of the 941/Baby Eagle design as clones of the original, akin to Browning's 1911 and its copies. Albeit, there being far fewer 941 clones than the 1911.

Anyone more knowledgable than I, please feel free to chime in.

None of the guns mentioned are true clones of the CZ. They are based on the same basic design, but clones are true copies with parts that can be interchanged with the gun they copy. None of these guns have the ability to interchange parts (except maybe magazines) with CZs. (Little things like slides won't work on CZ frames, pins have a different size, and almost nothing interchanges.) The best way to describe them is "CZ-pattern guns."

They're all good guns. Some of them are considered slight improvements of the earlier CZ 75 design, with steps taken to make production a little easier, etc. The firing pin block/safety design of the Tanfoglio design (which is the basis for most of these guns) is subtly different and arguably better than the CZ design.

It's a proven, versatile design, and all of these guns do it well.
