Jarvis Barrel for my Glock M35?

The only range I currently have access to only allows lead to be fired.(REALLY old indoor setup) I am pissed that I can't fire my glock there.
So, I want to buy a Jarvis Match barrel. My question is; does it just drop in and you are ready to rock or do I have to have it fitted? Are there any procedures I can do myself?

I'd REALLY appreciate any info on this as I want to shoot this M35 beauty more often.

Thanks

HIGHLY recommend you send your piece to Bill and have him hard-fit your new barrel for best results.

Worth it.

What does Hard Fit the barrel entail? Will i still be able to use my old barrel?
How much extra does it cost and what's the average turn around time?

Hmmm Weshoot2, Is there likely to be problems with a drop in barrel?

I'm asking cuz I just ordered one for my Glock 20. I'm not a competition shooter and figured a drop in barrel wouldn't be any worse than a Glock factory barrel. Is there more I should know?

The fitting is not actually done to your slide; it's done to the barrel hood area, generally. Sometimes, a little material needs to be taken off of the locking lugs, but that's pretty rare.

KKM makes a fine barrel that really does drop in. Accuracy is fine and they will take lead. You might want to try JR, at Lonewolf Distributors.

The Jarvis barrels can be purchased either drop in or gunsmith fit. I bought a drop in for my Glock 24. I had to have it throated by a local Glock armorer for 100% reliability. I personally can't see much of an accuracy improvement over the factory barrel. I bought a Bar-Sto drop in for my Glock 22. I like the Bar-Sto a little better, the stainless steel is easier to take care of.

Normally no trouble with drop-ins (may require minor fitting) but if you spend more money on your gun just spend even more!

Here is my experience with Jarvis - I had one fitted in a Beretta 92 and it did improve accuracy. 100% reliable. I bought a drop in for a H&K USP9 and could tell no difference over stock barrel. On my present Glock 19 I had a Jarvis fitted. Accuracy improved over stock. I then bought a drop in Bar Sto and accuracy improved even more. Reliabilty 100% with both. IMO the best out there is the KKM or Bar Sto. Get the Bar Sto only if in stock when you order. I have been waiting since April for one for a CZ75B. The only reason is they are the only barrel maker (match) that makes for the CZ75B. I prefer the KKM. Had one in a G23 that made it a tack driver! Either fitted or drop in only the barrel is altered. Nothing done to the pistol itself.

FWIW,

I have owned and still own barrels by both Jarvis and Bar-Sto, fitted and drop in.

I would pay the extra and wait the extended time for the Bar-Sto instead of the Jarvis.

I paid, as I recall, $231.00 for a fitted Jarvis extended match grade barrel for my G34 and when it was over and done, I can't say the gun shot any better than it did with the stock Glock barrel.

I can say that the Bar-Sto barrels I have had, and still have, DID show improvement in accuracy in different calibers.

And, the workmanship/appearance is FAR better with the Bar-Sto.

Also, the customer/supplier relationship with Bar-Sto is far better than with Jarvis.
