Jaguar/Tiger hunting in South Africa

Didn't see in any jaguars there were leopards in the pictures but did see the tiger, which in my opinion, sounds like a canned hunt. Tigers are not native to SA (Asia) so it would have to been one that was raised in captivity. So I'd imagine that it was pretty easy to get a shot on since it was taken with a bow (if it was spot and stalk), as it wouldn't have the instincts of a wild cat. Plus I'd imagine that it was released into an enclosure as they wouldn’t want a non native species of cat running around SA, especially one that wouldn't try to avoid humans.

Not my cup of tea to shoot animals in an enclosure, so I'd have to pass on any tiger hunting in SA. Now the other game looked respectable and some of the big game preserves in Africa that are several hundred thousand acres and have hundreds of square miles inside of property their fence line is a different story. To me that would still constitute fair chase as far as hunting goes.

this doesn't seem right. i smell a canned shooting. take note shooting not hunting. there weren't and will never be something like canned hunting. simply because the very essence of hunting and what canned "hunting" implies are two vastly different things. the closest thing to the truth is it can be called a canned lion shoot. NOT hunting.

who do we have to thank for this? the vanity of a small number of foreign hunters and the greed of a small number of local ph's.

fodder for the tree huggers.

p.s i am going to do some inquiries about the outfitter on this web site

I thought jaguar were only native to South America...

They are native to the americas. Just like Tigers are native to Asia. The first pic is labeled as a 'leopard' but is unmistakably a jaguar. Looks like they just took all the animals people might want to hunt and put them in a big enclosure.
