JAck O'COnnor Custom Tribute still Hostage at Browning/Winchester repair

Repairs were scheduled to be finished on my Jack O'Connor Custom Tribute by the 8th of May (this saga began last year with my NIB rifle). Still no gun and the status has not changed. A phone call yielded nothing other than "it should be finished any day now". Worst experience I have ever had with ANY firearm in my life. Too many well built and well serviced guns for me to do this again. I only did it because I am a ridiculously over zealous Jack O'Connor fan but I admit I have the problem and I have since my youth. I'll never spend thousands on a tribute gun from Winchester, ever again. I wish I was the only one with problems but I do thank those who have messaged me and told me their issues with the same gun as well as those with other tribute guns as well. My recommendation is to just get a good model 70 like a Kimber or Montana and get some custom work done. You pay about the same and my results have sure been different. If I get it back I'll post pictures and let everyone know the ending. Too late for a happy one, now I am just hoping for an ending.

Wow, as one guy has come up with a phrase at work that discusses the corporate world, I am shocked but not surprised (and any variation there of you want, its not patented!)

I am sorry, looking forward to something and having the where withal to do it and then this, drats.

Navy Chief, I thought about you when CDNN liquidated one of those rifles a couple weeks ago. When I saw it, I wondered how yours turned out. I almost ordered the rifle, but I had just dropped a big chunk of change on a pile or A.R. parts and parts to put together a new custom 1k rifle.

I was just thinking about this saga last week wondering how it turned out, sorry to hear it has not ended yet. It is completely inexcusable the way they have handled this and the issues you're having are certainly going to weigh into any decision I make in the future toward purchasing their products.

Disappointing, because my next purchase was going to be a standard M70 Sporter. Kind of concerned recent rifles may not be up to snuff.

Lord, is there anything well made these days?

Navy Chief, In the beginning Winchester thought I was difficult, then as time went by they decided I was impossible. All I wanted was a chamber in my rifle that matched my dies, for some strange reason they decided to hone, polish and ream the chamber, no matter what the chamber got bigger.

We had words, finally I ask them to send me a set of Winchester dies that would fit my Winchester chamber or fix my chamber to fit my dies, they returned the rifle in a new box.

You got better service than I got from Ruger. They told me shooting reloads had voided my warranty and they were not doing anything about it. That was 20 years ago. It cost Ruger selling me 30 or more rifles over the years.

Reynolds, I will tell you what will not happen, no one will inform Ruger they will do business with them when Reynolds357 is happy.

I purchased 2 stocks from Richards Micro fit, the stocks were so ugly I informed them I thought I could train wood peckers to do a better job.

It was almost 20 years ago and the store I bought it from exchanged the rifle for a new Remington 700 of about equal value. They said it would be the last Ruger they sold. I got my rifle replaced, but not by Ruger. The cases looked like they had a donut around the case neck after firing. I can not figure out how Ruger accomplished cutting a chamber that bad. I honestly think I could cut a chamber better than that if I stuck the barrel in a vise and chucked the reamer up in a hand drill.

Sig managed it with an SP2022, of course it was, shoot it a bit and then call us.

Huh. Sad story that its a surprise when customer servcie says, thats just plain wrong, we will correct it.

Last one was a blinking rear light on my bike. Good light but the cover snaps on and off to change the battery and I managed to break it.

They had me send them the old one (cost a few bucks) and I got an entire new one back ($25 light). Nice, very nice.
