I am no expert, but I just looked through a few books and searched the net. I didn't find much on their hammer guns.

I will venture a guess that your gun isn't worth as much as this one because it isn't as fully engraved and could be a lot more recent. You might be able to compare some of the marks listed in the description. I couldn't really tell much about the marks in your pic. Handsome guns though, aren't they.

The asking price is $17,785.

I can only put up 3 pic's at a time. Here are a few more. Thanks for the reply. Like I said, I've found LOTS of these on the web,but only one with hammers like mine

Hi hunter50,

your gun was made around 1909 to 1912 approximately. It isn’t possible to give an exact date, as there are existing only records starting at SN 200,001 which was made in 1914. Your gun is a Sauer model I, by the way.

As far as the current value is concerned: well, it was one of the cheap models when it was made. In fact, it was the cheapest shotgun Sauer offered at that time. See a scan from Sauer’s 1906 catalog.

As the condition of your shotgun isn’t the best I’d rate the value between 300 and 500 $ approximately.

Regards

Martin

$100? You stole it and I don't care if it was the least expensive/ornate gun they made that year.

And thanks sauerfan. I never would have found anything about on line.
