IWB question for driving

Longtime lurker, first time poster. I often drive with my handgun in an IWB crossdraw position. It is comfortable in that position but I was thinking that if I were to have a collision, even minor, the handgun could potentially cause a serious injury (hernia). Has anyone experienced this? Thanks in advance. Smiley

If your seat belt and/or air bag functions as designed I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are so many things in a vehicle accident that can injure or kill you I don't worry about my crossdraw rig (and I drive for a living every day) I do try to slide it completely around to the side so that it's not between me and the steering wheel. If you really want to be safe remove the 3 point harness in your vehicle and replace it with a DOT approved four point harness. I was seriously injured years ago in an accident and every vehicle I have owned since that time has a four point harness installed. I feel very safe with it. If you have to make a sudden panic stop for some idiot the feeling you get when your upper body goes into that harness hard is very reassuring.
