IWB holsters...

He guys I am new to the forum and first want to thank all of you for the good reads. I have been lurking for about a year now. I am taking my Concealed Carry classes two weeks from now and need some advice.

In the cold months I plan on carrying OWB kidney area. For the warmer months I want to carry IWB and need advice on a good holster $80 or less. Right now I will be carrying a XD9 4". Any recommendations?

Some background:

- 6' tall
- "athletic" (what my wife describes) 235 lbs. 38"waist
- IWB carry XD9
- OWB carry 92fs or XD9
- Prefer leather
- I want something that reholsters easier (mouth stays open)
- Usually where a wide belt 1.5" to 1.75"

Thanks in advance for maybe saving me enough money in holsters to buy the 1911 that I have my eye on.

Check out Galco or Don Hume for good quality holsters that won't set you back too much. I carry my Sig in a Galco "Summer Comfort" IWB holster and have been very happy with it. I'm pretty sure it was less than $60. If you want to go much cheaper, most of the Don Hume holsters can be had for around $30.

Take a look at Highnoon holster too. They have some good leather ones with top that stays open for IWB. They have some that they carry in stock and others they make as ordered. I have had a couple and been satisfied with them.

For IWB carry I recommend the Bianchi Professional 100: http://www.bianchi-intl.com/product/Prod.php?TxtModelID=100

You know, I bought lots of cheaper holsters trying to find one that would work. I even went out and bought a smaller gun to make carrying IWB in the cheap holster easier. It turned out (for me anyway) that going out and buying a nice holster (Milt Sparks VMII) was the best solution. The VMII not only let me carry a full-size pistol easier than my Glock 26 in the cheaper (though by no means cheap) Galco holster.

If I had just bought wisely the first time, I'd have probably saved myself several hundred dollars in holsters that I never use.

Dickfunk, its hard to type your handle and not laugh, no offense intended :p

I passed your info on to someone looking for a holster.

thanks.
