IWB holster for Walther PPS

I'm looking for a leather IWB holster for a Walther PPS. I prefer the metal clip to belt loops - I've found with a metal clip I can get away without a belt (depending on the overall stiffness of the holster/clip) which I rarely wear although I realize that's not really the design. I also prefer open on the top with no thumb break. I seem to be striking out so far looking online. Any suggestions?

I've used a kydex Fist Holster, but they make them in leather as well. The appearance leaves a bit to be desired, but it holds the gun well and has one of the best metal clips I've seen on a holster. I always carry with a belt, but it would work either way.

N82:nate squared.
I put mine in a nate squared. Very comfortable, good retention, invisible without much effort.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've had so many good suggestions here I'm actually rethinking my carry position (I was going to go appendix carry now I'm leaning away from that) so I'll check out all my options....I'll provide another update once I purchase something.

Hey.... concealed carry method will evolve until you find a method you are comfortable with. It has happened to all of us.

I just wanted to add though that no matter where you carry, a good gun belt is actually more important that a good holster. The belt supports the gun and holster.

Something to think about.

Best of luck.

Just to provide an update, I wound up getting a SHFT Gear ACE-1, it seems very well made, not as uncomfortable as I thought this mode of carry would be and I'm sure once it breaks in will even be better. Of course I need to decide if this "position" (4 o'clock) is the right carry position so I'll work with it.

I also need to say, the folks at SHFT were great. I had an issue with USPS messing up the delivery for multiple days and when I notified SHFT they immediately set about making me another holster and said they would ship it out if I didn't get mine in the next day or two. I never asked them to do this up front, but they obviously care about their customers and I will certainly do more business with them because of it. Nice to know the small shops still put customer service as a priority. Fantastic.

What ever brand, I highly recomend the double clip, hybrid style. Be it the original CrossBreed, Theis Holsters, my choive, or Aliengear, a little less costly but looks like a great holster. There are many more copies of this design by others as well. Including "kit" models that you assemble your self.
The double clips spread out tye load making them very comfortable. Tye leather backing comforms to your body. The Kydex shell has good retention, and doesn't collapse under tye pressure of your belt making re-holstering easy.

Give it some time as it will take your body a while to get used to CCW but move it around a bit in the process. I CCW my PPS at around 3:30 in a Garrett Silent Thunder IWB single clip kydex holster and it it so comfortable I once forgot to check a store front door for signs about CCW policy because I forgot I had it on me. I checked on the way out and no sign about guns not allowed which is typical in these parts but I always check anyhow.

A good gun belt can help too. I wear a Beltman bullhide gun belt. Keep in mind best safe practices when holstering your pistol including to go slow and verify that the holster is clear of any clothing and drawstrings from jackets, etc. before putting your pistol in it.
