IWB holster for P7M8

I know this topic has been discussed numerous times, but I cant really seem to get anything definitive out of the previous post. So I have a few questions.
1.For those who got the Milt Sparks VM-2. How do you like it?

2.Which IWB from Alessi is the best? I prefer not to have any type of retention snap over the gun. I like an open top.

There seems to be some quality issues with MItch Rosen.

Blade Tech seems to not support the gun very well.

I am leaning towards the VM-2 or one of the Alessi rigs.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

sgoeing,

I have both a VM-2 and an Alessi CQC-I for a Glock 19, and a Del Fatti ISP-3 for a P7M8. All are well-made holsters.

What I like about the VM-2 is its stability, and the fact that the belt loops are set-off from the holster mouth, which reduces bulk. The holster is very comfortable, but you do notice that there is a lot of leather in your pants.

Of the 3 holsters, the Alessi CQC-I sits deepest in the waistband. The leather is thin, but the sight track (?) and leather-reinforced mouth prevent it from collapsing. The belt loop is on the mouth of the holster.

The ISP-3 sits highest on the waistband; mine has a sewn belt loop, which although it is on the mouth of the holster, is not bulky at all. There is also a leather wing to keep which adds stability and comfort.

None of these holsters has a retention strap.

If I could choose only one of these IWB holsters for a P7, I would pick the ISP-3, but I think that holster selection is ultimately a matter or personal preference.

If you have specific questions about the design of these holsters, or their suitability for your body type (I'm tall and skinny) and intended use, all of the makers answer e-mails within a day or 2, and each of them is friendly and helpful. You should have no reservations about doing business with Milt Sparks, Alessi, or Del Fatti; they are all customer-service oriented.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!

I used an Alessi with my P7 and the mag release engaged a few time popping the mag free (never fell out thankfully). But this also happen with another holster - some cheapy - with that gun.

Anyone else have that trouble with the P7, and if so with what holsters? (The way the mag release levers stick out it's not surprising - if I hadnt sold the gun (which I regret), I was going to grind them down a bit)

I got a Desantis pancake style holster with a thumbsnap for my P7M13, and I've been very happy with it. While I haven't carried it all that much (it ain't light), I have yet to have the mag pop out. I know that's not what you're looking for, but it's the only holster I have experience with on a P7.

The P7 is a weird shaped gun, and seems to need a tight fitting holster, or one with a thumbsnap to work well. Short barrel coupled with a heavy grip (at least on the p7M13) makes finding a good holster tough.

I ordered my isp-3 with snap loops and the solid pad in the picture...tried both and the pad is definitely the way to go...very stable and slimmer since it has no folded over leather or snaps. I even sent back the loops and Matt credited me towards a single mag pouch...great guy and great holster....you can call him and discuss all this and also pick the exact cant you want...I went for 15 degrees which feels perfect for such a butt heavy gun...my gun sits high enough in the holster that it doesn't touch the mag release so no worry about it knocking out a mag....also, the added leather below the slide really helps keep the short slide from digging into my side, which happened with other holsters that were shorter....
