IWB concealment holster

I need an IWB option for my Kahr PM9. I'm new to this, so I can only imagine what might work. But here's my thoughts...

I think appendix carry will work best for me.
Need IWB
I'm looking at tuckable. I'm not ever wearing a big, thick belt, and aside from concealment, tuckable look more stable?
I think I will prefer low ride rather than high.

I don't know if I want it canted or straight and I'm not sure how to predict that.

I don't want to spend a fortune or wait for weeks at a time.

Any suggestions?

I've been looking at the Crossbreed MiniTuck (long wait, but I see one on gunbroker that seems to be available now)

Fist-Inc has some with clips that are relatively inexpensive and look comfy, but no clue if I'd want canted or straight.

I'm looking at the DeSantis Nemesis (looks like this will either work really well or I will hate it and I can't tell which)

Blade-Tech (maybe looks a bit bulky??)

I'm not assuming the above meets any specification I think I want.

How on earth can I predict what will make me happy in an IWB? (might make millions if I could figure that out, since it seems anyone who has owned guns for awhile, has a drawer full of holsters)

It seems that no matter how much input you receive, holsters are a MUST to try out for yourself. Another one to add to your list is www.comp-tac.com. Of all the holsters in my household, they've been the most compatable for me.

I didn't want to spend a fortune on my first holster either.
I appendix carry I search all over for something and read every post on holsters
I bought a High Noon Mr.Softy works great very much like the Fist holster you put the link. The only thing I don't like is the back of the slide digs into you if sitting for long time. So I will definitely be replacing it with one that has leather covering the slide. The Crossbreed MiniTuck I believe in not a appendix carry their Mirco Clip is though. Crossbreed has a 2 week trial if you don't like it. Hope this helps

Everybody winds up with a drawer full of holsters. That's because everybody is built differently. What I can do is give you some ideas. For 2 o'clock carry I'd look at Comp-tac's 2 O'Clock.

For hip carry NM-Holster #1, TT-Gunleather's Mike's Special, and offerings from Comp-Tac and Custom Carry Concepts Quick Cover.

You will also want to invest in a good belt. Like them or not they are a must. Comp-Tack has some nice ones.

+1 with Str8UpG. I have tried a bunch of different IWB holsters. Don Hume H715M is what I have been using for my handguns for a good while. Made in USA, good quality, good price, simple design that works.

I'd highly recommend trying one of the Comptac products. Expect quite the wait, though! My last two took FIVE days from the time I ordered, 'til they arrived at my doorstep.

Best customer service in the industry (well....tied with Milt Sparks :p ) IMO.

Very true statement: "Those that have owned guns for awhile have a draw full of holsters."

I'm not a fan of IWB carry so as a result, I most often carry OWB, strong side. I have a couple of shoulder rigs but use those only on rare occasions. I find the holsters that work best for me are Galco and Blackhawk Retention. The Galco holsters ride close to the body and do not print. I prefer the butt of the gun to have a slightly forward cant.

In another life, when I was working, I was issued a Don Hume strong side OWB with a retention strap. It was very comfortable and perfect for the job, especially as the duty weapon was relatively heavy. Nowadays, when the need for a retention holster arises, I use a Blackhawk.
Check them out. Hope my information was of some use to you. Good luck.

Phoebe, Fist makes an adjustable cant holster. I like it for my Kahr. Its worth a try without too much investment and its THIN!

Check out Kholster.com. I have one and love it. I trimmed the leather to fit my gun. They not pretty, but cheap and very adjustable.

Phoebe,

Stroll over to www.usgalco.com and check out Galco's contour-cut belts that narrow down or taper in the front. They don't look like "gun belts," but rather like simple dress belts. See http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp?ProductID=1313&CatalogID=254 or http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp?ProductID=1339&CatalogID=255. I can vouch for how sturdy & attractive they are.

At the same time, look at the "Ultra Deep Cover" holster (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPT2.asp ), which is a nice little tuckable that will do the job for you. Don't go with the similar-appearing "USA" holster, because the USA doesn't have a reinforced mouth; that's a safety issue & not worth it.

Galco keeps products in stock & so you won't have to wait a long time for your order, either.

Hope it helps.
