Iver Johnson Sealed 8 Info. Request

I recently "inherited" an Iver Johnson Sealed 8 22 with a six inch octagon barrel. The finish is about 50% but the grips and mechanics are fine. My questions are: Does anyone know anything about the reliability of these revolvers - i.e. will it blow up in my hand? Can it withstand the pressures of modern ammo? What was the production, etc.? I know these are not exactly the Cadillacs of Revolvers but was hoping to have a tackle box/beater and thought this might be up to snuff for that application. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Target Sealed 8 1931-57 Protector Sealed 8 33-57 Supershot Sealed 8 31-57 I'd shoot standard velocity stuff and enjoy it. Probably worth $75 + or - If in doubt have a gunsmith check it out.
