I can't seem to quit fixing up the 700, but I think this last order is a means to an end (less reloading schtuff). Tonight I ordered a Vortex Viper PST FFP 6-24x50, 20 MOA base, rings and a Jewell trigger. It seriously just breached the $2500 mark.

I also am proud to say that I just joined a local club with a 300 yard range, and have a buddy at the office with 1000 yards on his farm. Great beginning to the new year!! The scope is on backorder, but it won't be long (I hope). Gives me time to dial in that trigger, and get ready for some range time. Super... super psyched.

Last spring when I started shooting again (with this rifle), I lucked into some 1/2 minute groups using match ammo. I can't wait to make it a repeatable occurance now that I'll be able to see those little 1 minute targets!! Also bagged my first two deer ever with her. Looking forward to this spring, building an AR and another year of TFL trolling! Love this forum for it's wealth of know how. Hate it for it's wealth of know how. See what you've made me do?!

(ooh... just got blank posted!!! Let's try this again.. )

Right there with ya... maybe a little over if your counting optics and the rifle.

Rem. 700 5R: 1000$
McM A5: 500$
Bedding job: 300$
Optics: 2280$

And i'm nowhere near done with it :(

oh, wait, you guys have an extra digit. Cost and target distance both.

Hahaha, great post! I've often asked why I couldn't have a cheaper hobby!

Although, not many hobbies are cheap... everything's gotten expensive :(

Been there, done that.

Decided that .22LR would scratch the itch for less money. Wrong. Just as much money, maybe more.

Decided that maybe black powder would be cheaper. No way, Jose! More money.

Now I know: It's just the price of toys. The older we get the more expensive the toys just can't live without. I should go back to the good old days when I only had to have a new two-seater sports car and a motorcycle to get through my mid-life crisis.
