...some Glock mavins have made me see that the 1911 is NFG! They convinced me that right out of the box, the Glock was battle ready, and no aftermarket BS was needed. Since I have seen their point, I would like to say that if there is a will, there's a way to "enhance"/customize your Glock on the cheap:

Want checkering on any part of your Glock? Just heat up a metal meat tenderizer and apply at will.

Need fish scales somewhere? Just heat up some thum tacks, and apply sparingly.

What, need a slightly better carry bevel? Heck, just lay out in the sun and time her...short time for mild carry....long time for that melt down look.

Need a trigger job....hell, any squirt gun trigger will suffice.

Need additional serrations on your slide? No gunsmith needed, just lay her on the BBQ.

Dang! What was I thinkin' of all these 3 plus decades messin' with 1911's???:barf: :barf: :barf:

WHAT??? IT ISN'T APRIL 1ST??? OH CHIT!?

Alnamvet,
You forgot I very, very important point...you can make them more concealable by heating up a butter knife and cutting the grip length shorter. And if you take too much off, you get one of those extendo thingymabobbies for the mag. Simple....:D

Shoot well

Ease of cleaning... you wouldn't DARE put that 1911 in the dishwasher... but Tupperware, even COMBAT tupperware is dishwasher safe!

I have about had it with these "My Gun Rules and Your Gun Sucks" threads, people.

If you want to hang with folks who only own and love one kind of gun, there are other web forums for just that purpose.
