I've been hearing voices.

When I last went shooting it was with my two revolvers and I had a ball. As I was packing up I heard a very clear voice in my head that bore the unmistakable sound of inspiration. It said "sell your autos and buy revolvers!"

Now I'm not quite ready for that yet, but when I heard that little devil sounding off, it sounded good!! :D

I like my CZ a lot, but I must say there may come a day when I am happy to have more wheelguns in my safe and at least one will read ".44 Magnum" on the side!!

Anyone else ever had little mini-epiphanies like that?

All the time! :D

The other problem, are those damn plaintive voices calling my name when I drive by my local shops, and I go in to see who or what is calling, and come out with no memory of being in there, no money in my wallet, or left on my credit card, and there are strange (but good looking) guns in the back seat, looking all innocent.

My voices say buy only revolvers, but then the voice on the other shoulder says "that Colt 1911 in .38 super sure looks good......"

Now how can a .38 Super be a 1911?

1911 Colt 38 super in a national match. They were made in the 1935-1941. From 1962-1968 they also chambered it in 38 spec but they were designed for wadcutter ammo only.:D

Yes I do. Every single time I buy the last gun I'm going to buy to complete myself I hear,'now what gun do you need to fill the niches between this one and the other one?' It's a sickness.

I hope I am not imagining things other than the voices.....

Looks to me like a Government Model, not an M1911 or an M1911A1.

My point is, if its a Colt commercial model, its a Government Model. If it's marked "United States Property" its then either an M1911 or an M1911A1. Government Models can be .38 Super, 9mm, or .45 ACP. M1911s are .45 only. This applies only to Colts, Johnny-come-latelys can be anything.

Friend of mine had one of those .38 Special Gold Cup autos. About as far from a 1911 as you could get.

Blowback operated, not short recoil as in a Government Model.

I was using a borrowed .38 Super once, and the first round the case head blew off and tied up the pistol the rest of the day. Fortunately I had my Ruger Blackhawk .357 along as back-up.

P.S. We later cleared that pistol, and it never had a problem so long as he had so far as I know.

I'm a revolver guy at heart.

I don't have the problem of hearing voices for a different style gun! LOL! :D

As much as I like semis, revolvers are just much more fun and interesting to me for some reason. Even most of my defensive handguns are wheelguns. I know they aren't as popular as they used to be in that role, but I am just so comfortable with them. The first center-fire handgun I ever shot was a S&W model 37 Airweight. I guess that sort of ingrained in me what a "real" handgun was supposed to be like.

I just love wheelsters!

I stand corrected, the voices were definitely whispering that government model, which looks like a 1911 platform, sure is nice....

I remember the old cartoons where an angel would be on one shoulder, and the devil on the other. Both trying to talk you into something.

You don't really need another gun, send off that extra money to pay off the mortgage.

You really gonna listen to that idiot?

When you are at the gun show, watch some guy older and richer than you buy a gun.

The voice in your head should be, "I will soon be buying that same gun, but paying a lot more for it."

Wait!? Cartoons? You mean those boys aint real?!?

Angels, by the way, dont stand a chance down here either. The bumper sticker on my car sums it up nicely...."Jesus loves you, but the Devil gives you all the cool scheiße" Works for me! :D
