"[Even if there would be] few tears shed if and when the Second Amendment is held to guarantee nothing more than the state National Guard, this would simply show that the Founders were right when they feared that some future generation might wish to abandon liberties that they considered essential, and so sought to protect those liberties in a Bill of Rights. We may tolerate the abridgement of property rights and the elimination of a right to bear arms; but we should not pretend that these are not reductions of rights." -- Justice Scalia 1998

Yea I am watching it on ABCNews.com webcast.

Cheney is very cool and collected.

Liberman(SP?) and Bore keep saying "The military is as best as it ever has been blah blah blah"

While that may be true...what is wrong with Bush and Cheney wanting to make it better anyway?

Didnt Cheney have a hand in the Gulf War?

Hmmm...who has more knowhow about it...I wonder? :D

Getting back on thread, have you noticed that whenever either Bush or Cheney mention the condition of our military, Gore or Lieberman try to turn those comments into an attack on our servicemen? Cheney rattled off two minutes worth of information, and Lieberman's response was to suggest that Cheney was impuning the military. It's the same tactic Gore used when Lehrer asked Bush to comment about Gore's character. Bush was pretty tame in his criticism, yet Gore used the comments to bemoan the politics of personal attack. Attack? Why is everyone so afraid to attack one of the sleaziest politicians at in Washington? This is like a judge ordering a prosecutor not to infer that the accused is a criminal. And Gore is a criminal.
