Ithaca Model 37 question

I'm looking for a 20 inch barrel for my Ithaca Model 37.
This shotty was made in 1947. Is such a barrel available? If so, from whom and for how much? Thanks.

You have several choices:
One, is to contact Ithaca directly and ask where barrels can be bought.

The other is to check with Gun Parts Corporation.
They sell most Ithaca parts, including barrels.

You MUST be VERY specific about production era when ordering parts from Gun Parts to insure you get the right barrel.

Thread difference on pre 1954 barrels ?

:) I'm not positive, but I think on guns made before about 1954(?), that the barrels are not interchangeable, and had to be factory fitted. Not 100% sure, as I can't find my Ithaca factory manual. Best to call, or maybe email Ithaca, and ask someone there before you buy one. Do a web search for their number. Might save a headache, maybe not. Good luck! Joe :)

I believe that gunsmither is correct. However, I have sent, by separate email, the barrel disassem on the 37. If yours is like that then you got lucky. If not, the it will indicate the age on the gun.

Thanks folks...

I did check the Ithaca site...the gun is circa 1947 per serial number. The gun also breaks down exactly as shown.
