Ithaca Model 37 barrel source

I have an older Ithaca M37 12 ga. that I bought new in the early 70s with a long barrel (28"). I would like to get a replacement short barrel for this but was wondering if there is someplace other than Gunbroker and such for parts for these older shotguns? I know that they made an deerslayer barrel but I am thinking something shorter, perhaps 20". Ideas other than Google search and a shot in the dark (pun inteneded) with a source?

Thanks.

as sad as this sounds it is cheaper to get another used ithaca, you then can hack it and have a second parts gun. jmho bobn
ps i have two 37 and two 97s for the same reason, lol.

Well, I actually do (did) have two M 37s. When my son was commissioned in the Air Force, I gave hime my old work horse, the Deerslayer. I do regret it but perhaps I will just look for a nice used one as you suggested.

You might ask by email at Diamond Gunsmithing, Ithaca NY (owned and operated by Les Hovencamp, Ithaca's former head gunsmith before their relocation to Ohio). I've heard much good about them.

If anyone knows the care and feeding of Ithacas, they will.

TJH,
I did use google, found them and will be contacting them. My prefernce was to look for a gently used barrel before I purchases something new.

I have a deerslayer barrel that I was getting ready to sell on ebay. 20" smooth bore and very clean. Send me a pm with your email if you would like some pictures

New on the Forums. Was googling for m37 barrels and came across your post. I've got a vent rib 24" near-new m37 barrel with 3 choke tubes I'd consider trading out of, if you are still interested.

I already have a full length barrel on my M-37 that I use for ducks. I also have the Deerslayer with a 20" barrel. I had given my son the Deerslayer and wanted something shorter for home defense and thus was looking for a replacement barrel. A 24" one doesn't do me much good but thanks.

Fwiw, my son came home for Thanksgiving and we decided that I could keep my 20" shotgun
