I finally found an Ithaca police special shotgun and would like to replace the magazine tube because of rust spots. Is the tube threaded into the receiver and if so what is the best way to remove and install without marring the finish?

Otis, they are threaded. Brownells www.brownells.com sells a padded mag cap/tube pliers that work well but sometimes a strap wrench is needed. Kroil soaking will also help.
