Ithaca Flues Help Needed

I have an Ithaca Flues sxs shotgun that I'm trying to determine the grade on it. My friend believes it is a grade 4 but I cannot tell. There are 4 dots underneath the serial number on the bottom of the barrel. By the serial number it was manufactured in 1923.

Pictures can be found below.

Any and all help would be appreciated. Approximate value would also help.

IMO, your shotgun looks to be a Grade 3, with no finish left on the receiver.

Any gun is only worth what someone will pay for it, and collectors like "condition", meaning high remaining percentagee of original finish.
A rough estimate of your shotgun's value can be obtained via googling "Ithaca Grade 3", then checking for a sold gun in like gauge (you didn't mention what the gauge of your shotgun is) and condition.

BTW - As a rule, the smaller the gauge, the higher the value.

thanks

Petahw, thanks for the info. I think I'll go with it being a Grade 3. Not quite sure how to really tell the difference between 2 and 3 but i'll trust you as the expert. The gun is a 12 guage. I'm assuming that makes that value $1200-$1500 as a rough estimate?
