Ithaca 37 and Trap Shooting

Just shot a match of Trap and was wondering how other people do the 'drill' with the Ithaca when shooting trap. It should be the same as a Browning BPS or any of the Remington Bottom-loaders. I had a hard time figuring out how was the easiest way to single-load.

God made us in his own image.
Thomas Jefferson made us free.
John Browning made us equal.

Without Browning, we might not know about the other two...

That is the only drawback to the Ithaca design. It would be nice to be able to insert a shell directly into the chamber but taking everything into consideration, I can live with that!

I think I've got it figured out. After ejecting the empty, I turn the gun over and slide the forend about a half inch forward to allow the forks to drop. Then I flip the gun upside down and wait for my turn. I can now drop the shell down into the chamber without a thought and slide the bolt forward. Then a little flip of the gun and I'm in business. Will have to try that next time, methinks.
