We've scouted a bit and have a couple located ( Have their travel patterns sort of figured out so we can intercept them.) that look to be pushing 13 or more. Saw quite a few more in the 10-11 range but did not take time to patern them so they'll be as opportunity presents.
Don't hold much hope out for ever getting another like the two biggest ones last season. I looked at the FWC list of largest gators on record and those two were in the top 6 they have listed sense 1977.
I'd say we were VERY fortuinate. We've 10 tags of our own to fill and then 4 more that we'll be helping other guys fill. If we manage to run a 9ft or better average that is fairly good. Last year we were way over 10 on for the 13 we caught. Only 2 less than 10.
I'd like to think we were that good but fact is we were blessed.
Either way we're going to have fun...................
it could be a tough evening. But then it may work to our favor as it will send some of the other guys to the hill and we'll have more area to ourselves once it clears. Hope so anyway.............
The gator season here in Texas starts September 10th. Went out yesterday to do a little more scouting. Saw a bunch in the 8-10 ft catagory but no giants.
...yeah, that excited feeling happens every fall. I love it!!!
