Issue with a pietta 1851 Navy .44

So the bolt only pops up partially when the gun is fully cocked. Enough to catch the cylinder bolt notch, but not all the way, so there's a bit of a jiggle in the cylinder at full cock. When watching the bolt movement without the cylinder in the gun, I can see the bolt rise some while cocking the hammer, and when I let the hammer fall slowly I can see the bolt come up the rest of the way. Basically, when the hammer starts to fall, the bolt fully engages the cylinder notch and there's a solid lock up, but at full cock the bolt isn't up in the notch far enough to create a tight lockup. What's the problem?
 
It might be a weak trigger/bolt spring or it might be a problem with how the bolt rides the hammer cam.
 
Completely disassembled it, cleaned all parts and reassembled it. Working perfect now. It did have some crud in it but not too bad. I'm noticing that the bolt screw is slowly backing out when I work the action.
