The Parliament will elect a hardcore warmonger such as Arel Sharon and then we will have a meat grinder in the Middle East. Parliament is citing the lack of action by Barak for his pressed resignation so one could be led to believe they want the petty ante BS by the Palestinians stopped.

Just damn glad it looks more and more like Dubya will become Prez, we’ll need him and his reported appointees at the watchtower when the fecal matter hits the Westinghouse.

Glad Barak is out

For all that I do not wish any more bloodshed in Israel, they need someone competent at the wheel and the hawks seem to have more of a clue...then again, what do I know of their politics.

Appeasement never works in the long run (you decide how long is long). ClintonClintonandGore tried to purchase an agreement and it did not work. Arafat just could not stomach the existence of Israel and torpedo'd an agreement. I predict that worldwide things will begin to fall apart at an increasing rate; not because ClintonClintonandGore left the scene but because one can only kiss so much *** before it get old. For eight years we act like toothless lapdogs and now the consequences come into play.

I'm no expert on Israeli law or politics, but I believe Barak has simply called for early elections ... not resigned. Am I wrong? There is a difference, no?

Barak called early elections in order to forestall a "no-confidence" vote in the Knesset.

I really feel sorry for whatever leader they elect in Isreal. That has got to be the hardest job in the world. I don't see a real clear solution to that problem. If anyone has one, please send to Barak, Carter, et al. They would love to hear about it.

Oleg, you are dead on. Israel had a good man in Netanyahu and Clinton sent in Carville and Company to destroy him. Thank God Barak is gone before he gave up more territory!
