Israeli perspective

With so much pro-palestinian attitude coming from our media, a lot of images and footage have been cut out and not shown to us. There is a good site that has an Israeli perspective on this issue, and a lot of pictures, and some footage you will not see in the western media.
http://www.rotter.net/israel/

Beware however, the first video link is quite graphic and more than a little disturbing.
The second video is very disturbing as well, but not for graphic content. Watch little kids signing about growing up to be suicide bombers. It's quite.... bad.

Regarding the liberal media bias favoring the Palestinians. I think PJ O'Rourke put it best:

quote:
That liberals aren't enamored of real freedom may have something to do with responsibility-that cumbersome backpack which all free men have to lug on life's aerobic nature hike. The second item in the liberal creed, after self-righteousness, is unaccountablity. Liberals have invented whole college majors-psycology, sociology, women's studies-to prove that nothing is anybody's fault. No one is fond of taking responsibility for his actions, but consider how much you'd have to hate free will to come up with a political platform that advocates killing unborn babies but not convicted murderers. A callous pragmatist might favor abortion and capitol punishment. A devout Christian would sanction neither. But it takes years of therapy to arrive at the liberal point of view.
Since we're not in control of ourselves, we are all vulnerable to victimization by whatever is in control. (Liberals are vague about this, but it's probably white male taxpayers or the Iran-contra conspiracy). Liberals are fond of victims and seek them wherever they go. The more victimized the better-the best victims being too ignorant and addled to challenge their benefactors. This is why animal rights is such an excellent liberal issue. Not even a Democratic presidential candidate is as ignorant and addled as a dead laboratory rat.

The search for victims of injustices to pester explains why liberals won't leave minorities alone. "The minority is always right", said that pesky liberal Ibsen. And, when it comes to minorities, there is none greater-or, as it were, lesser-than that ultimate of all minorities, the self. Here the liberal truly comes into his own. There is nothing more mealy-mouthed, bullying, irresponsible, and victimized, than a well-coddled self, especially if it belongs to a liberal.[/quote]

Any thoughts on this at all?

Yes, I have thoughts on this. I've always admired the Israelis for their toughness. They got their people out of Entebbe when Carter got our helicopters clogged with sand in Iran. They've been staring at heavy weapons and terrrorists for 53 years. The Palestinians sided with the Nazis and the Nazis lost. To the victor goes the spoils, and one of the spoils was a homeland for the Jews the Nazis didn't kill.

Of course, there will be those who disagree. And there will be those with more history under their belts. But they didn't post first, so there. ;)

Let this be a lesson.. a country.. hated.. surrounded by their enemy... and they carry guns. In retrospect.. this is a small country.. giving their all.. to survive. And they are doing so in a country that doesn't believe in them... they are the enemy. Now.. project that onto us.... the "bad" and the "ugly"... we too can do the same. I think that all the desert people will end up as glass.. but that's just me.

This whole issue may wind up helping Bush. The Jewish vote has typically been Democratic(?arguably?). But Jews see the current administration siding with the Palestinians and may begin to see that Bush represents their international interests better than Gore does.

Yep. I've got thoughts on this. A little bit ago, maybe a month or so, I looked around the world to see who the US could call *friendly*. My conclusion at the time pretty much came down to Israel and Japan. My conclusion now is one down, one to go. Ironic isn't it, about Entebee, I mean. Back in Desert Storm, the Saudi's housed the US troops that were about the only thing between Israel and a rain of SCUD's. Meanwhile, sitting in the same Saudi *house*, living in grand style is old Idi "Look at my neat coin purse" Amin. Strange world huh?

You're right sand becoming glass. We should be concerned about that, because in the next war, the bombs are going to fall over here, too.

Now we have war apparently.....

I am VERY angry though at the claims by the UN and it's lackeys that Israel is guilty of war crimes because they are attacking fanatics...

I wonder: is Barak waiting until after November 7th to strike back so he won't embarass his pal Clinton and hurt Al Gore's chances in the election?

It's possible. More likely Barak is trying like hell to look like he's in full control of the situation, because if violence gets really bad, the Sharon will probably get back into control, or maybe even Netayahu.......

I am an orthodox jew, so my bias is a lot stronger than others. The israelis can do no right in the eyes of the UN. They are shooting people for throwing rocks. In egypt today they had elections. Many people were protesting and throwing rocks in order to keep people from the polls. The egyptian army retaliated with LIVE fire and killed three and wounded close to 30 people.

MY question is will the UN condem the egyptians for firing on people "merely" throwing rocks??? Of course not it will never happen. Is there a difference? No but the world wont see it either.

I just watched Charlie Rose not so long ago here. He was interviewing some Palestinian lady, and she hardly let him get a word contrary in. Charlie Rose is hardly a hardcore republican or anything, but her absolute insistance that it was totally Israel's fault and that the Palestinians were completly innocent, was clearing annoying him, and he was trying hard not to be rude.

These Palestinians are acting like they are completely innocent and that it's all Israel's fault, that Israel's troops are the sole cause of all unrest. We rarely get to see the pictures on the news of the Palestinians going all over the place painting swasticas all over everything...

I do not admire the Isrealis for their total lack of garanteed rights for their own citizens. Despite their guns, they have no RKBA (their gun control is, by our standards, very harsh) and no other "constitional" rights.

Keep in mind that anything the major media and the UN tell you about the Israelis will be slanted in the favour of the "poor inocent palestinians".
There are many reasons for this. One of the biggest reasons is this:
The Israeli State and nation is hard-core Nationalist! They recognize only themselves as their own lawmakers.
The media and the UN are internationalists. They do not like people who think like the Israelis.
I predict Israel obtaining "rouge nation" status fairly soon.

I would also mention that much of the land that palestinians are so impassioned about was SOLD by palestinians to Israelis before 1948.

If the palestinians realy wanted a rationaly worked peace plan they would not use their radio station to call on their people to kill the Israelis. They would order their police to stop shooting across the divide at Isreali civilians.

All this being said, I back Israel and the IDF 100%!

Go read on on some House legislation called H.Con.Res. 426.....
