Israeli .308 Mausers?

I saw an ad for these in the shotgun news. Supposedly they are FN manufactured, and originally chambered in .308, not rebarreled.

Anybody got one? Opinions?

If they are originally chambered in .308, do they have a shorter receiver? Probably not, but are they large ring Mausers. The ad compared them to the K98.

I'm thinking about it. This is all skyder's fault. He showed me that SOG ad, knowing that I have a weakness for both Mausers and .308. :)

I've ordered other guns from SOG, and in my experience good to very good is actually good to very good.

They are $160 something. Darn it. Just low enough to be really tempting.
 
Pass on it....they're junk. Gun Tests magazine does not recommend it. Save your money for a good Mauser...like a T38 or VZ-24. :D
 
CMR, I'm very familiar with the Yugos, Turks, Chechs, and I have a 1909. This is just something different, and I happen to like .308. Thats why I'm curious.

What did guntests have to say about them exactly?
