I just got a new IAI .45 and wanted to know 2 things. First, does anyone know anything about these guns and can offer some advice on them? It's my first 1911 style gun. I've been a SIG man for the last 5 years.
Second, does any of you 1911 guys have any advice to offer a newbie? What kind of mod should I make if any? It is a poly frame with stainless slide, skeleton hammer, beavertail-safety and a removable compensator.
Thanks

Damiano, the few posts (by owners) I've read so far on the IAI 1911's have been very positive on fit/performance etc...
The fact. extras probably don't need changing out but that's what's great about the 1911 design, if you don't like something you can change it !
Is yours a 10rnd Hi Cap version ?
If it is, Para-Ordnance/Llama mags will most likely fit it ! :D
A good 4lb trigger job is usually what a defensive 1911 needs but if it is to be a GAME gun, you can go down to 3lbs or less.
If you want, drop by at http://www.para1911fanclub.w3.to/ & say g'day ! :)
