Isn't there a free outdoor range in Georgia?

Howdy Folks,

I seem to remember some folks talking about a free outdoor range east of Atlanta recently. Anybody know anything about this place?

Do they have rifle and pistol ranges? Do you have to provide your own targets? Where is it exactly?

Thanks,

Matt

I used to live in Decatur and recall shooting at the DeKalb County range. It was off of I-20 east, but that is the most I can remember.

I'm not from Georgia but here in Pennsylvania we just pick up the phone and call the Game Commission. They will direct you to the nearest public range (free). Maybe Georgia has a similar agency?

Pick up the Georgia Hunting Regulations Handbook, its free and in it are the locations of the public shooting ranges in GA. Where abouts do you live? There are none within about an hour of Atlanta, but several about hour and a half away.

HEY MEET US AT WOLF CREEK TOMORROW AT #PM, is not free but these TFL meets are real fun. Look for the thread in the "Lock'N Load" Forum. http://www.thefiringline.com/NonCGI/Forum20/HTML/000200.html

Charlie Elliot WMA, east of Atlanta off I20. Take exit 47 (I think), go south through Mansfield. Great range.
