ishapore rifle

They're heavy, rude, crude, painted by hand with bbq paint, and quite old fashioned.

They're also made with a better steel than original SMLE's, are one of the fastest cycling bolt actions out there, and make a darn nice truck-gun.
I have an Ishapore 2A1 that had been shortened into a pseudo jungle rifle (no 'preserving history' there.). I had it placed into a plastic stock and am in the process of having a scout-scope mount installed.

I don't expect match accuracy, but I expect it to survive the next appokkyclips without a sweat.

Get one, clean it up and enjoy.

"...with bbq paint..." BBQ paint it isn't. BBQ paint is for Al. If any paint is on any Lee-Enfield, it's Suncorite. That'd be a special paint on finish.
Ishapores were made as stop gap rifles to be issued to Indian Army Reserves and police during the manufacture of Indian FALs. They'll do.

T O'Heir is correct, of course....it is Suncorite. I'm sure he recognized the tongue in cheek response.

It just looks like bbq paint slathered on with a broom:D
