Hey guys, I was at my lgs today and they had a new PPS m2 in stock. I used to own the older version with the paddle mag release. The mag release was a little awkward but I never had any issues with the gun. Is the PPS M2 as good as the original version? Thanks

I have the original PPS and love it. I tried the new PPS M2 also and it is also great though I slightly prefer my original PPS as I like the large back strap and the paddle style magazine release.

I have an original that I love. As such I have read a fair bit and handled the M2 and so far it seems to be just as well received. I have read that, like the original, is very tight and needs a good cleaning and a range trip or three to loosen up so don't be disheartened by a an early failure or thee with cheap light ammo. My PPS Classic had two or three early failures with cheap ammo the first range trip. By the third range outing it felt like a different gun and hasn't missed a beat since.

Other than that the biggest complaint seems to be getting magazines.

I took the PPS M2 out again Friday so the round count is now at 200, this is reliable & accurate as the day is long, that trigger just gets better the more I shoot it, and that stiff recoil spring is starting to loosen up nicely! I think this gun will be my new EDC but I'm going to keep shooting it until I decide for certain.

I've been comparison shooting the two versions of the PPS, along side a XDs 3.3, all in 9mm caliber.

For the Walthers, the triggers and sights are the same. But the frame shape and mag release on the PPS M2 is so much nicer that I plan to sell my original model PPS.

And I am not sure about the XDs. I sure like that red fiber optic front sight. And the larger mag capacity. But the trigger is slightly beat out by the Walther trigger.

It is possible that I'll sell the XDs also and just look for a fiber optic sight for the PPS M2. I really can't see that I need 3 small single stack 9mm pistols.

In the very small double stack category, the SIG 290 seems to be the one for me.

The problem with owning many different guns is keeping track of the different trigger pulls. The PPS and the 290 couldn't be more different in that regard.
