Is This Winchester 1300 Defender Priced About Right?

I've been looking for a shotgun. I'm a handgun guy and have never been around shotguns. I know the 870 is generally what people recommend and I understand why after reading about them. I've actually been looking for an older 870 Express with wood furniture but I have only run across one and it was kind of rough.

Today I was doing the LGS rounds on my day off and ran across a Winchester 1300 Defender with wood furniture. It looked unfired to me or at least fired very little. The price was $329. I've been tempted to get a short shotgun to keep around the house (two attempted break-ins in 6 months). I've got handguns, but I'm thinking a shotgun might not be a bad idea at this point.

So, is it about right? Too high, too low? Thanks.

Since they've been discontinued, and I haven't seen a wood stocked one in many many moons- that is the top end I would pay. Cal you talk them down any or offer them that amount cash out the door?

By the way, I love the 1200/1300 series SG's. Have had several over the years, still have a few- and I think they're a great shotgun. I think FN brought them back out under a different name, but don't hold me to that. There might be all sorts of changes.

Joe, that's in the ballpark. I paid 275.00 last month for a later model "Speed Pump" Defender in excellent condition. Shipping was $35.00.

If you visit GunBroker or AuctionArms and search you will find them priced lower for used in good condition and above. If its in the shape you say, its not an out of line price. Make a offer on it!
