Heard on the news 3-3-00 the mayor of Roanoke VA.
This guy signed up the city of Roanoke to be one of the
cities to buy only from smith and wesson.
Get this he didn’t discuss it with anyone. Not city counsel
or the police. The police chief and sheriff knew nothing
about the deal and sounded pretty ticked off.

It isn't legal. They have to go through the competitive bidding process. All this will do is gain publicity for the mayor, polarize with bad feelings and cost the taxpayers money to fight it in court.
