Is this grounds for divorce?

I spent the last several weeks researching pistol scopes, mounts, and rings for my S&W model 29. I got lots of sound advice from TFL members on my selection and was very pleased with the final product.
I returned about an hour ago from my gunsmith with my pistol in hand. I proudly showed my pistol off to my wife.
Her comment was "it looks silly like that, Dirty Harry would never put a scope on his".
I'm thinking about putting a scope on her S&W 236 just to piss her off now.

I'm mixed on that. From an aesthetics standpoint, your wife is right. But if what you are wanting to do this for is hunting or other long range work, well, who cares about aesthetics in a hunting type weapon, where utility is much more important.

It all depends on what is important to you.

How big is the scope? You know what women say about guys having big toys that make big noises...It makes up for something 'else'. Especially if you start to pile on other big things on it.

Put a scope on her revolver and you will then have a lot further to run before you are out of her range. Best not to tick her off.
