Paid "only" $2.28 for 87 octane this morning at Sams Club in central Phoenix, never thought I would consider it a good price. Just 3 weeks ago it was 2.75.

If ever an oil exec. has their swimming pool or spa serviced they better not complain about $65-$85 an hour plus parts!

I saw it for 2.16 in Saginaw MI this AM. I hope it keeps on with the downward trend but I don't expect it to last very long.

its 1.99 here in Sherman TX, for 87 but i have to run superunleaded in my lightning so its still 1.29 for me but its still good for my wife.

It will last until after the elections in November, probably. Just a thought, but what if $2/gal was the target price all along. If gas went up to $2 and stayed there we would all be bitching, but now it's "cheap" compared to the $3.50 or so we paid a few weeks ago. It was roughly $1/gal a year ago!:(

hahah funny you should mention that there was a station down here in tx that had a contest. anyone that could guess the price of gas when BUSH took office they could fill up with that amount. some people got it, it was 1.26 when he took office and climbed ever since.

Isn't that funny crazy how $2 a gallon is good now.

Wow, you must be in some type of time warp. Gas hit a record high of $1.75 per gallon in March 2004--that's 2 1/2 years ago it was almost $2.00 a gallon.

I think it going down is a good thing, not only for us but for taking some of the power away from places that have the market on it,i.e, the middle east.

There was a place somewhere that was selling it at 1.69 a gallon for 87 and still other gas stations are having contests. The ones that usually are higher than everybody else, are now below everybody else.

That said, we still need to keep pushing for other forms of energy, hybrid technology, geothermal and solar power. It would be great to someday not use any gasor oil but a chemically bonded substance thats easily replaceable.

Lowest price I have heard about around my part of the world is $1.99 in the last day or so. I still think the price will continue to come down until you see few prices over $2.00. I guess that means CA will see $2.25 prices for regular unleaded. Then it will start on the way up again.

I still am thinking trying to make significant fuel use reductions in the coming years.

Anyone remember gas prices around September 2004 until January 2005? They dropped considerably for the November elections, then spiked when King George reclaimed his crown.

Watch for it again this year. 2nd Tuesday of November it will be sub-$2 everywhere in the US. By February, it will be back to $2.75 a gallon suddenly.

For those who don't know - Citco is owned by Venezuela [Mr Chavez] No matter what the price I won't buy a drop !!!

2.90 here in La.

ill buy from chavez, i don't care.

The man has been providing lo-cost heat to those in the north for a while.

Got to love the conspiracy theorists:rolleyes: Everybody knows that Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Russia are just dying to help out George Bush;) .:barf: Some people:confused:

Locally it's $2.15 and dropping. Was around $1.99 last Friday near E-ville. Was $1.85 last Thursday at a couple places in Missouri. Supposedly the same guy who was first to predict long-term $3 a gallon gas(and was scoffed at) is now predicting long-term $1.15 a gallon gas. I'll refrain from scoffing, this time...

Blame it all on the futures. Spikes and drops, it's all because some people like to gamble. Appears this time they may be getting burned and, hiopefully, that'll make 'em slower to jack it up next time. We'll see, I suppose.
