I just purchased a new Tikka T3 Lite in .223 and as with all my firearms I set out to work up some loads for it and for the first time ever I encountered this problem,,, I measured the the point of contact with the lands using my Stoney Point comparator with a 60gr. V-Max and then measured the oal of the cartridge at 2.990 and proceeded to load 5 rounds at 2.970 and check them for fit in the clip ( good ) and then tried to feed one to the chamber and and got a bit of tight closure on the bolt and removed the cartridge and checked the oal to find it had not moved but there was a small ding in the bullet just outside of the case neck . Back to the board I went and took a new cartrige and shotened it to 2.955 only to have the same thing occur ! I then took a resized case trimmed to 1.750 and chambered it only to get a ding in the case neck when closing the bolt. Is this from the bolt head not being squared to the chamber ? Do I have a concern that needs attention from Tikka ? I am a shooter but alas no gunsmith and would appreciate your input folks . Thanks much, 10 Spot .
