Is this a problem or paranoia?

Gun in question is a taurus 24/7 pro compact in .45acp

Gun had about 100 rds through it last week, 20 rds yesterday, and has not been cleaned.

This morning shooting a mix of wwb, speer lawman, and blazer brass, once in awhile I would get hit with a shell casing on top of my head, I was shooting
MOSTLY wwb, and I dont recall this happening any other time.

Is this a problem? Gummed up extractor? I gave it a quick scrub with some CLP in my range kit and it seemed to do it a little less often, but that could have been my imagination.

They are not flying directly back into my face, just arcing up and landing on the top of my head.

I would agree not an issue, I have had cases hit me in the heard, one even managed to go down the back of my shirt, my fiancée had a case go down the front of her shirt.

Wwb ammo is loaded very light. The slide velocity therefore is lower. As the slide and extractor move backward with the empty case to contact the ejector at the slower speed it doesn't have the energy to clear your body.

Usually this happens only when combined with limp wristing however this is not always the case.

Jake you got it all wrong...you are not paranoid...its a new Taurus self-defense feature. The idea is to catch the empties with your free hand and toss them at the attacking perps, distracting them, and setting up your next shot.

I doubt the amount of crud that would build up after a hundred rounds or so would have anything to do with where the brass lands. I have shot several guns that would hit me in the head just once in a while, if you are worried have someone watch while you shoot. As long as they are going in the same general area, the rest is coincidence. But if it were me, I wouldn't worry anyway. The most important thing is that it feeds reliably, not where the brass lands.

Thats what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure.

And I guess I was just worried after defending taurus so much, murphys law I guess.
