Is this a good trade?

I am currently in negotiations with a local dealer in my area about trading my old pre-ban 92FS for a new lda14.45. I'm thinking that trading 15rds of 9mm for 14 rds of .45 is a definate plus. I can't get both right now because I have a baby on the way. I'm looking for pros and cons.

I'd keep the 92FS. It's the military sidearm so spare parts and hi-cap mags are readily available and inexpensive. I have no experience with reliability of the para, but I know mags are expensive. I traded my Italian made 92FS a couple years ago and have regretted it ever since. Mine had the sport conversion barrel with the counterwieght and bushing. It was the best shooting, lightest recoil of any gun I have ever owned. I miss that gun.

I wouldn't hesitate to trade.

I've had a Beretta 92 and an Italian 96 -- fine guns, but big and heavy and only average in accuracy (at least the ones I've been around).

The LDA is an interesting gun, and you'd actually be getting a bigger caliber that's probably more concealable. And the LDAs that I've handled were very impressive.

Go for it.

It might be a good trade,if you get designed capacity magazines with the LDA. You are aware that it isn't the guns that are post- or pre-ban, it is the magazines?

It annoys the antis.

A couple questions: Is the Beretta stainless or blue? Does it have the old or new mag release/safety? Is it Italian or American? What shape is it in? How many mags? Are they high-cap? Does the Para-Ord come with a hi-cap mag? Does it come with a coupon for more hi-caps at a reduced price? Is it an even trade?

I have a stainless Beretta, and a stainless P13.45. Both are excellent guns. Whether it's a good deal depends on the answers to the above questions.
