Is this a good price on an HK?

I was at a local pawn shop..they were just pulling an HK USPC
.40 out of the back to sell. It looked clean, clean and had 2
mags. with it. I chatted with the owner for a minute and got
him down to 400.$ I thought this was a screaming deal, but
after checking around with a couple of the larger shops that sell
used guns (alot dont deal with them, only sell new) I learned
this was just an OK deal. I am confused..what would a screaming
deal be on a clean used HK usp/uspc? Thanks and shoot well

Around these parts, that'd be a pretty darn good deal.

Let me guess; none of the dealers that told you that was only a "so-so" deal happened to actually have a USP at that price point in their shop?

Tamara,
Actually 2 dealers had 3 guns in stock...2 uspc's and 1 usp.
One was actually priced lower..only one mag..but guaranteed it
to be a clean one owner....thus my confusion. Shoot well

All I know is, when I traded in my USPc .40 for my Kimber, the dealer gave me $450 for it. So I would say yes, that is one heckuva deal.

I must concur with Drizzt, that is on very nice deal. i picked up my USPc 40 for $250. but that was from a friend who didn't like it and needed the cheese for a Sig 229.

definatly pick that one up. then you can start thinking about your next HK.

good luck and be safe.

Good deal for these neck 'o da hoods! Plus, even at an okay deal, you know you'll get that money back if you decide to sell/trade later!

Prices in these parts have seen the USPc's climb to around $800. Getting a used one at half-price is a snatch-it-up opportunity.

I rarely see a compact used but when I do it is almost always about $500. I would get it so then the HK fever can really take hold. Sorry no real antedote.
