I was nosing through my local shop and found something that really caught my eye. A NIB S&W 638 for $388. I tried to get them to come off the price but they wouldnt budge.
I am going to go back tomorrow and see if I can get them to throw in a speed loader and holster for that price.
Does anyone think this is a good deal?
I kind of need to know in a hurry.

Thanks

Supposedly it is a NEW gun. The only problem I have with this place is that everything that they sell as new looks like it has been fired. I would love ot know for sure. I am going to ask tomorrow if they have another one besides the one in the case.
I wonder if it is because of the moron behind the counter who when he was showing it to me kept on spinning the chamber and shutting it.:barf:

All guns are test fired at the factory, so a little fouling is normal. They guy behind the counter who is spinning the cylinder then snapping it shut should get a clue. If he is mishandling the merchandise and damaging it, the shop will quickly develop a bad name.

Like Victor said...
If truly new, not one scratch or blemish, ok price.

Otherwise it is nearly $100 high.

A word to the owner is in order re the salesman's handling of the gun.

I bought it....

Well....i went to the shop today to pick it up and ended up getting a brand new, never been touched 642, a soft ambidextrous holster, and box of 50 125gr 38sp. for it for the same price.
I am looking forward to getting to the range this weekend to try it out.

You can't go wrong really with any S&W revolver.......

Still love my S&W 681 after over a decade of ownership.......;)
