Is this a good gun?

I can't remember who makes it, but it's a 9mm and I think it's a Millenium. Its small and light. I can't remember the brand name and it's killing me, but is it a good gun? I can tell you its not a Ruger, Glock, Bersa, Firestorm, or Walther for sure. Its silver in color. It is on the tip of my tounge!!! This post may be a piss in the wind since I can't give the exact name of the gun, but any help would be helpful. I saw it at the local gunshop for $345. If anybody has any ideas of what brand they think it is, post that and I'll tell you yes or no. If I saw the name I'd recognize it. Thanks!

I think its a Taurus!

Yes, I think that's it. Could Taurus be right? Anyway, is it good? Reliable? Ya know, worth buying if you already carry a .380 for personal defense?

It is Taurus.

From what I've heard it's a toss up.
All my info is hear say, but it's about a 70-30 spilt on getting a good one.

Stay as far away from Taurus as you can!!! I have a PT-145 that is currently on it's way back to it's birthplace because of a cracked frame!!! There is another chap here, skyslash by name, who had his PT-111 come apart!!!! Mine is not the only one that suffers from this fatal malady!! I know personally of two more!! There are also others on this board who's Tauri are similarly stricken!!!
Beware the ides of Taurus!!!!

Hold on a second denfoote-
Just a month ago you were singing the praises of your new pt145.
Now you have a pt145 with a frame crack, and you issue a blanket condemnation of taurus

The truth is taurus has issues with their millenium line. All of their regular autos and revolvers should be fine on the whole. If you're looking for a semi, avoid the millenium series if want to avoid possible troubles. If you'd like a beretta clone, the 92 should be fine. And if you're looking for a revolver, taurus still makes a dependable, affordable revolver.

Just trying to be rational without throwing around exclamation marks.

Our shop stood behind every gun we sold.

The only product in the Taurus lineup that we didn't stock was the Millenium.

Draw your own conclusions.

No shooting or ownership experience here----but the ones I looked at in the store had parts coming off in my hand----if that's any help. Needless to say--I didn't buy one.

Too bad---because the price was right and I liked the size of it.

Im with bastiat on this one denfoote. Its the millenium line having problems not the whole Taurus line of handguns. Lets make sure we specify the millenium line thats having the problems. I dont think the revolver line and other autos deserve a bad rap on this one.

taurus line

i agree that it is one gun in the taurus line not all.i have owned a taurus 99 for 12 yrs with no problems.i also own a nickle 45 that has never given trouble.
