is there such a thing as a lint-free (or lint-less) swab?

Don't know where to find lint-free swabs (Q-tips). I don't mean absolutely lint free Trident submarine swabs, but relatively lint-free.

Anyone got a suggestion?

Take regular Qtip and wrap it in a coffee filter. Coffee filters are very good lint free wipes.

And cheap.

Try a medical supply house. Surgeons use lint-free swabs all the time.

Lint free are also used in electronics, but I am not sure who has them retail; Digikey has some online. Also camera and lens kits.

Try Bear Metal Swabs they work great and no lint, made for gun cleaning.

Go into a discount fabric shop and buy a yard or two of remnant flannelette. It's winter bed sheet and PJ material. Ask if you don't know. The women working in those shops are used to guys asking and they're usually very friendly. Cut said fabric into 4" x 2" pieces. It's cheap and works well for cleaning patches.
Plain cotton doesn't throw much lint after it's been washed once.
