Is there any kind of legal push by the NRA or GOA

Is there any kind of legal push going on by the NRA or the GOA to lift the ban on fully automatic weapons?

I'd looooove to be able to get a Thompson sub Machine gun. Classic weapon. And it's my right to keep and bare.

To me, that's a ban. Buying a machine gun is almost like buying a car. To me, for a gun, that's more than it's worth. Plus you have to fill out all these forms and jump through all these hoops.

$10,000+.

It used to be ranchers back in the 1920s would buy Thompsons to keep varmints and cattle rustlers off the range. Now you have to be pretty well to do to get one...and even then, it's such a bundle of money for a gun.

There IS a ban on fully automatic weapons, called 922[o], the machinegun section of the Firearms Owners Protection Act.

It basically says private individuals can only own those automatics already registered before May 19th, 1986.

As far as I know, no pushes are made to repeal it, except possibly by NFAOA.

American posters may advise better.
