Is there a better choice than Ruger #1 for making a single in 577?

Just doing a bit of planning [read: dreaming] for a future rifle project.

Any suggesttions for gunsmith for making a 577 single besides SSK?

I don't think so, unless maybe someone is making their own actions. Sounds like you're planning a project with the "ouch" factor being at both ends. I've thought about building one in the .475 #2, but common sense tells me I don't have any use for it. I,ve always like the looks of that round. Finally got to look at one in the flesh (?) at the last gun show. Seems like Old John taylor didn't like the .475#2. he thought it was over-engineered or something. Felt the rim was too much of a good thing. Wonder how that round would work loaded up to it's full potential. T-Rex's anyone?
