Is The P99 Cleared for +P and +P+ Ammunition

9mm Glocks, HK's and Sigs are all in widespread law enforcement use with +P and +P+ ammo but I haven't seen much talk of the Walther P99 being used with high powered rounds.

Since 9mm is only a real worker with high quality +P JHP's, it's important to make sure Walther have cleared the gun officially for such useage.

Anyone have any info. on this, it would be appreciated.

Its designed for NATO spec ammo, which is loaded to much higher specs than American SAAMI ammo, its at least the equivalent to +P+ and maybe hotter. I shoot a steady diet of Speer 124gr. +P GD thru mine, no problems at all.

Ditto what everyone else has said. I use Rem Golden Saber 124gr +P in mine. The imports like HK and Walther are designed for NATO specs which are hotter than SAAMI.

Should be no problem.

The Walther P99 is OK with +p ammo although the S&W 99 is not. I got that straight from Earl at Earl's Repair Service, the number 1 Walther guy in the U.S. Good shooting!
