Is the next president a dead man?

Every US president, since 1840, who has been elected to office in a year that ends in zero, has died in office -- the only exception being Ronald Reagan. Seven out of the last eight presidents (elected in a year ending iin zero) have either been killed or died of natural causes while in office. What do you think will happen to the man elected in 2000?

I've seen this one before. Let's hope this isn't the case since it will be W. But, God forbid, if it does happen, Cheney does have a stellar 2A record.

Let's look at the bright side here: This means Bush has to win the election. After all, Bush is the only serious candidate who can die in office. Gore might have a power failure or something, but he's not really eligible for death.

I'm not so sure that nothing could happen to Gore. Between Dutch Elm disease, Asian Longhorn beetles and rogue pileated woodpeckers, the Secret Service may have its hands full.

Nah, The SS wooden let anything happen to Al.

Supposedly this is the curse of Tecumseh, or his half brother, The Prophet, placed on Harrison-or some such thing. Pretty unusual coincidence. Course Tecumseh, was pretty unusual himself so it's easy to see how a legend could spread. Try a Google.com search using curse of Tecumseh. It might be so much mumbo jumbo, but reading about Tecumseh makes it worthwhile.

If our new president is an anti like Clinton.......who knows?

I think Reagan broke the cycle by surviving the assasin's attack....

The Bill of Rights is a document of brilliance, a document of wisdom, and it is the ultimate law, spoken or not, for the very concept of a society that holds liberty above the desire for ever greater power. -Me

This is an interesting question. Personally I feel Gore does not have the cojones to prevent war or terror attacks in the near future. Will he go up in smoke with 100,000s of fellow Washingtonians? Let's hope not.

Well, lets hope that doesn't happen...but, here is my two "senarios".

Bush elected:
(This is the "irony senario"). An attempt on his life by an anti gun person using a gun who "disagrees" with his "pro gun" view/actions.

Any attempt, the public would be shocked. Anti gun people, if a gun was involved, would be calling for more gun laws.

Gore
An attempted assasination, or successful, if a firearm was the prefered weopon, would result in more anti gun laws.....or even, (God forebit) a constitutional revision striking down the 2nd.

Any attempt with a Demo in office will lead to more anti gun laws. It's just reason they're waiting for to bring up more laws.

That's what I think.

Imagine, Gore gets elected and Klinton is his vice prez.s Gore dies by the curse and Klinton is prez. again
