Is the new UPS handgun policy in effect yet?

I'm just wondering--I did several searches for UPS, but found all kinds of completely unrelated threads. I know there was information on this topic a few days ago. Anyway, I'm just curious as to when the policy started. I'm getting a handgun shipped here this week. The seller is paying shipping but it would still be nice to think I beat the deadline . . .

I figured that was the case, but oh well. He doesn't seem perturbed and I get the gun faster, but it sure is irritating.

BTW, OTMG, I was FOTFLMFAO when I read Miss D's account of your outing. Just wanted to see how many acronyms I could sneak in . . .
