Is the M-1 Carbine Banned Under the NY SAFE Act?

It seems like no one can give me a straight answer. For example, I own a newly manufactured Auto Ordnance M-1 Carbine. It does not have a telescopic/folding stock, or a flash suppressor, or a bayonet lug, or a pistol grip.

So is the M-1 Carbine banned or not?

My take, FWIW: The M1 Carbine does not seem to be on the named model list. However, as a semiauto with a detachable magazine it would qualify if it has just one of the evil features. The most likely evil feature to be on an M1 Carbine would be a bayonet mount.

Note that you cannot keep any unmodified 15 or 30 round magazines after January 15, 2014.

Well, if it doesn't have a bayonet mount or *any* of the other features that cause men to go mad, then it should be legal.

But don't take my word for it. Contact the Governor, ask if an M1 with no evil features is legal and if not, why not. Get their answer in writing. Then follow it.
