Is PMP South African ammo okay?

I'm considering buying 1k rounds on-line. I would appreciate and info on it's quality for range purposes. BTW, i'll be shooting it out of my Glock 19. Thanks in advance for your help!

So far so good, bought 1K at a gun show. Good price and quality. I've gone through about 150 rounds with no problems. This is through a Ruger P89, recently purchased also. Both weapon and ammo are reliable.

Some folks criticize PMP 9mm ammo for being under-powered and having excessive muzzle flash (actually a few sparks every now and then). Personally, I don't mind the lower recoil since PMP still functions fine in every 9mm pistol I've tried. The sparks don't bother me either.

IMHO, PMP is better ammo than similarly priced brands like PMC, Wolf, and American Ammo. Of course, I like CCI Blazer, too, so take my comments with a grain of salt. :D

I have shot quite a bit of their 223 ammo. No complaints here.

I've shot a case or two, and its fine. I shoot PMP, Denel, Sellier & Bellot, or Magtech, whichever is least expensive when I need to reorder. S&B seems to be the hottest, and the rest are about the same. All seem reliable and accurate -- at least in my guns.

Has anyone chronographed the PMP 9mm? I bought some Denel (DNL) South African 9mm for $110/1,000 rounds. It works fine, but is quite low-powered (a couple hundred FPS slower than I'd like). I'm wondering if the commercial PMP might be a little faster. Thanks.

Doug

I have run 750rnds, out of the 1000rnds bought, through my 9mm pistols. No problems to report yet. I do agree that it is a little dirty and seems a little underpowered.

Hello. PMP has been accurate and reliable iin my experience. For the poster who asked about it, I chronographed it at an average velocity of 1120 ft/sec (115 gr) from a Browning HP. Best.

Well, after shooting 1K of S&B, I have to admit that the PMP is a little milder than the S&B - but WORLDS cleaner. I spend half the time cleaning after 100-200 rounds at the range.
